REMEMBERING LYN

Created by Denis 2 years ago

We could never forget Lyn!

Her birthday was the same day as our wedding and subsequent anniversaries.  We remember John (my best man) and Lyn coming down to Streatham, South London for our wedding in December 1972.

I had the bright idea to save money on buttonhole flowers for my wedding - I bought a load of carnations and packs of kitchen foil to make the buttonholes myself on the day before.  I did not realise how many other things that you need to do on the day before your wedding.  Needless to say I was running out of time and still had plenty of buttonholes to make that evening.

John & Lyn came to my rescue and we finishing the job approaching midnight.  What would I have done without the help that night of my best man and his then girlfriend Lyn?  I think they must have learnt from my mistake - they never made their own buttonholes for their own wedding!

Over the years we have kept in touch and always looked forward to seeing our very good friends John & Lyn and seeing their family grow.

Lyn always stood out to us as a loving, caring and gentle person who loved life and very much loved her family.  She was very down to earth and very easy to talk to. A lovely humble person with a good sense of humour.

We know that she went through many health challenges and she bravely coped with them.
We shall very much miss her but thank God that we knew her in our lives.

With much love and fond memories.
